Jupiter and Venus snuggle up to stay warm in the chilly night sky
If you haven't noticed already, go outside tonight right around sunset and look up into the southwestern sky. It won't take you long to see 3 very bright objects cozied up next to each other in the early night time sky. The trio were closest on the night of December 1 and will gradually part ways over the next week or so. Are they trying to keep warm in the very cold weather we've seen lately or is love in the air? Perhaps, but to find out the real reason for this fairly rare occurrence, check out this story from CBS News. This sight will be waning (pun intended) over the next few days, but will partially re-occur on New Year's Eve when Venus and the crescent moon kiss in the New Year together.
