Johnsonville councilman proud to see youth’s support

Johnsonville city councilman Brad Richardson said he was happy to see so many young Republican supporters in Myrtle Beach the day of the Republican presidential debate.

"I'm glad to see our generation of people to get involved in government (and) get involved in politics," said Richardson, who is 28 and first ran for council six years ago.

Richardson, who is endorsing Fred Thompson, encouraged young voters to make their decisions based on convictions and issues, regardless of political party, and not to be swayed by appearances.

Richardson sees South Carolina as the make-or-break primary state for Thompson.

"The Southern charismatic charm will do him well in the South," Richardson said of the former U.S. senator from Tennessee.
