Hoping, praying for missing players, families
I can’t imagine and never want to experience what the families and friends of Marquis Cooper, Corey Smith and William Bleakley are going through.I hope Cooper and Smith, the two NFL players, and Bleakley, a former South Florida football player, all still missing from the boating accident off Florida’s Gulf Coast, are found alive.
It gives us hope that one survivor from the party, Nick Schuyler, was found Monday 35 miles off Clearwater. But he had managed to cling to the boat, which he said flipped while anchored in rough seas, while the others got separated from the vessel.
Usually, these types of situations do not end well. And while I certainly feel for the victims and the unimaginable difficulties they either are facing or died facing, I can’t begin to imagine what this situation must be like for their families. They must wonder if their loved ones are still alive, which must be utterly torturous.
Maybe some of you reading this have been through something similar, when a family member or friend has, for some reason, gone missing. You have my sympathy, although I’ve no idea what you might have gone through.
Here’s hoping and praying that Marquis Cooper, Corey Smith and William Bleakley are OK. And here’s hoping and praying that their families and friends somehow find the strength to get through this ordeal.
