Flyleaf rocked the House of Blues
My husband and I went to the House of Blues last night for the Seether/Flyleaf/Red show. We went mainly for Seether, as I'm sure mostly everyone did. But, I have to tell you, Seether had a tough act to follow because Flyleaf really rocked the house. Now, I've seen Flyleaf live before and enjoyed them, but this time they really brought it. There was a lot of energy from the whole band and they interacted with the audience. My first time seeing them, they didn't even speak to the audience. They just came out, played and then left. They covered one of my absolute favorite bands, Nine Inch Nails, at last nights show. The song they covered was "Something I Can Never Have" from the Pretty Hate Machine album, one of the best songs from this album. When they started to play the intro to the song I was sitting there thinking, "Wait a minute, what is this? This sounds very familiar." After about 15 or 20 seconds, I figured it out, then started freaking out. They did an awesome job covering the song. I think Trent Reznor would be happy of their cover. They really did the song justice. Of course they didn't use the cuss words from the NIN version, but Flyleaf is a Christian band. It actually kind of surprised me to hear them covering the song. Flyleaf is a strictly Christian band and Nine Inch Nails isn't anywhere close to being a Christian band, just take a listen to "Heresy" from the Downward Spiral album.
Seether did a good job, but I've seen better from them. Their show is starting to get really theatrical. I'm not quite sure if I like this or not. In a way it's cool, but in a bigger way I know it's all been done before by someone else. Their set up reminds me a lot of Korn, but maybe dumbed down a little. They've finally got another guitarist in the band, which brings a lot more to the live sound. If they would have played "FMLYHM" I believe I would have enjoyed them a little better this time, but not too much.
This was my second time seeing Red. They did a really good job, a lot better than the first time I saw them. If you don't know who they are, they sing "Breath Into Me." Red is another Christian band.
I had a really good time at the show last night, but with all shows you get the people who really bug you. My husband and I almost always stand right in front of the stage and we did last night, but there were these little teenyboppers trying to keep the front baracade for their entire group. All of which weren't even there yet. Well, we were able to get a spot up front whether the girls liked it or not, only I had to stand beside one of them. Very shortly after settling into our spot for the show I hear the girl beside me say like a million times, "Can you smoke in here?" When I heard her say that I was thinking, "Are you even close to the age of 18 to buy cigarettes?" This whole group of girls couldn't have been any older than 15. Then I hear them talking about shoving me, my husband and the other people over so they could fit all their friends in. Well, I heard that, and started telling everyone of their plan, very loudly. So, we all decided to push back and wasn't quiet about our plan. They ended up telling the security guards that we were going to push them over, so the security guards told us not to do that. We must have scared them or something because they didn't push on us once.
Anyway, my husband and I are thinking of buying the reserved sets from now on. The last five or six time we've been to a show we've ran into some real idiots in the font. Either it's a bunch of teenagers or a drunk that seems to be having a blast, but is ruining everyone else's experience. It's fun to be right in front of the stage at a show, but people are starting to get to freaking annoying.
Anyway, I'm out! Later!

Kewl. Glad you had a good time. There is this song that Nine Inch Nails sings that I just love.
You wanna’ guess which one it is?
