Exhaustion
I'm exhausted. I don't know any other way to put it. I haven't been eating right, I've gotten about 4 hours of sleep each night for the past week, and I can't go to bed without dreaming about the news. I covered the two presidential primaries in Columbia over the past couple of weeks, and have been working on a homicide by child abuse trial all this week. What that means...is major "work mode." I love my job, perhaps a little too much, and pour a lot of myself into it. I live and breathe the news (which I have to imagine is quite unfortunate for the poor people who have to hang out with me.)You know what though...I love the exhaustion. Well, maybe not so much the physical and mental fatigue, but more the feeling of accomplishing something a little greater than my usual work. I like being in the excitement of things like primary parties, and I enjoy telling stories from inside the courtroom. But they do wear you out quite a bit. The presidential stuff is self-explanatory. The trials are exhausting for everyone involved (and believe me I know that my exhaustion as a journalist in NO way compares to what the families are going through.)
Anyway, I'm gonna try to turn off "work mode" for a day. I'm gonna take a nap, eat some candy....and watch really, really crappy tv.
I hope you all get to take a break from the madness as well....have a good one

4 hours sleep a night…
Welcome to my world..
I havent slept a full night since I exited the military..
Just when I thought I had that under control..my wife got Kodi and Nemo..two hateful puppies that think it is cool to wake Daddy up at 2:00 AM to play..
If Nyquil and Jim Beam wont do it for me..that candy and crappy TV dont stand a chance..
Get some rest Patricia..you have earned it Girl!
