Edwards has remained consistent, supporter says
Debbie Miller of Florence, who supports John Edwards, said the former U.S. senator from North Carolina has had a consistent message about improving the economy long before it became one of the top issues in the presidential election. She feels like the other candidates are avoiding the issue of coal-fired power plants, she said. Edwards, however, has called for a ban on plants such as the one Santee Cooper plans to build near Kingsburg, in lower Florence County.
“It tells you a little about his credibility, loyalty, his consistency and his honesty” to take a stand on such a divisive issue in the Pee Dee, said Miller, who opposes the plant.
“I don’t feel like I’m being ‘politicked’” by Edwards, she said.
Miller, who didn't attend the debate but planned to watch it on television, spoke to the Morning News during a Monday phone interview.
