Early Spring?
I'm not one who necessarily buys into the hype of groundhogs and early springs or long winters, but what I saw yesterday as I was driving home from work made me think. It was a pair of trees that are in full bloom--ALREADY! I'm not positive what kind of trees they are, but if my memory serves me right, it seems like Bradford pear trees are usually the first to bloom. But, if that same memory which I'll happily admit isn't so good at times, serves me right, they don't usually bloom until around early March, not mid-February. February 16 seems a little early for trees to already be budding, let alone in full bloom as the tree pictured below.

These are the only 2 trees I have seen that were anywhere near blooming, if these 2 trees are any indication, spring may be even closer than you might think. Then again, this shouldn't come as a surprise. Georgia's groundhog General Beauregard Lee did predict an early spring!
What do you think? Is it unusual for trees to be blooming this early in the year?
Whatever the case, I couldn't help but get spring fever when I saw the first signs of spring on my way home from work yesterday. Hopefully, it will have that effect on you too!
Have a great Tuesday!
Chris
