Chick-fil-a Bowl Notebook - No Sandwiches For Sunday

Same old song and dance

On Sunday before the game, there's no practices and no interviews for either set of players, there's just one final coach press conference. Unfortunately, there's very few things to say that haven't been said all ready multiple times. It was obvious that both Tommy Bowden and Tommy Tuberville were sick of answering the same questions.
Like...

What's the key to winning the game?
Will Cortney Vincent play?
How tough is it to prepare for a new offensive coordinator?
How much fun are you having in Atlanta?
and everyone's favorite.. You guys have the same first name.. discuss.

Apparently creativity is not a prerequisite to becoming a newspaper writer. There was basically no new information divulged today.

Hamlin's last game?

I did ask Clemson junior safety, and Lamar product Michael Hamlin whether he was thinking this might be his final game at Clemson. Hamlin has started for two and half years in the Tiger secondary, and in this age of leaving college early, Hamlin could declare himself eligible for the draft, and most definitely be taken at some point. Hamlin said the thought has crossed his mind, and many of his family and friends text message him all the time about it. The former Silver Fox isn't sure quite yet.. but it's definitely on his mind. However, Coach Bowden said during the press conference (new information alert!) that through the conversations they've had, he believes that Hamlin will come back.

Teams catch Falcons game

Both sets of Tigers spent Sunday afternoon watching the Falcons play the Seahawks at the Georgia Dome. Coach Tuberville referred to it as "the Seahawks game". The president of the Chick-fil-a Bowl said they were sending the players to the game to "help the attendance." But even with both teams and associated personnel getting tickets, it hasn't stopped the game from being blacked out in my hotel room five blocks away from the Dome.

Chick-fil-a not only doesn't open on Sundays, but they do not allow any of their products to be sold or served anywhere on Sunday. So the News13 team tried their best to get through the day without a chicken and a biscuit. Here we see Matt Lincoln in happier times.

Needing my "fil"

In case you were wondering, Chick-fil-a not only doesn't open on Sundays, but they do not allow any of their products to be sold or served anywhere on Sunday. So we're all trying to get through the day without a chicken and a biscuit. If I had the foresight, I would've grabbed a few extra yesterday, to help make it through the day to day. Hindsight is 20/20.

What do you think the Chick-fi-a Bowl will come down to? Who do you think will be the most important player on the field? Tell me what you're thinkin' on scnow.com.

I think the game will come down to big plays. Auburn has a stingy defense but they do give up large chunks of yardage on single plays. This bodes well for Clemmins high octane offense. I can see Spiller and Davis both breaking long TD runs. Clemmons needs to control the clock and not turn the ball over. Auburn has no offense. It will be good one but I see Easley A&M;winning this one in a nail biter.
