Blogging the Outdoors
Blogging the outdoors? If you told me this time last year that I would be writing a "blog", I would've said "You're crazy"! Are you kidding me? People want to read the random thoughts of Eric Walters? My boss David Hart asked (told) me I would soon be blogging several months ago. I kind of let it go in one ear and out the other. Then I started thinking about it and even got a little bit nervous about it. I am the Managing Editor at News 13, and to most in the community, I'm the news guy. You know, the person you talk to when you want something covered by the TV station. Then I asked myself, Big E, what do you want to write about? We have plenty of folks from the News department writing blogs , how can you be different? I'm just a Big Ol' Country Boy who has lived in the South all my life, has three great kids, a wonderful wife, and loves to hunt and fish. I can proudly talk about my family, like my 6 year old son Nick, who is now playing flag football and loves it, or my two daughters, 11 year old Madison, who's going on 25, and 8 year old Lauren Ashley who is the sweetest child God ever put on this earth, or my wife Shannon, who really likes to fish (not cook).Hunt and fish????.....I love to hunt and fish, and thousands of people in our viewing area like to do the same......I proposed the idea of blogging the outdoors to my boss, and he even liked the idea.
We let's get started! I, along with many others in the Pee Dee and Grand Strand, will be hitting the woods soon in hopes of harvesting a nice deer. As of right now, I plan to be in the woods this Thursday. I've been watching the TV shows on the Outdoor Channel and have bagged dozens of deer on TV!...Man, I wish it were as easy as they make it out to be.

Um, first of all…. you need to stop using auto-iris when shooting Dillon football. And stop shooting deer. Sincerely, The Parking Lot Cat.
