Black Friday: WalMart was surprisingly calm

Shocked? Yeah, I was too. I purposely left Wally World for the last stop on my trip, expecting it to be total mayhem. But surprisingly, there was less traffic both inside and outside of the store than there is on a normal Saturday afternoon. The main reason for the calm was a really great idea that many other stores should use on Black Friday. All of their big sale items, such as Nintendo Wiis, laptops, digital picture frames and MP3 players were all stocked in the former layaway department and customers had to go there and wait in line for them. They also had checkouts right there for those items, so that the lines in the front of the store really were pretty short. I even saw one checkout line that was completely empty! Well, Black Friday is done for me, thankfully - and with no blue-hair, support pantyhose fights - I hope you all found everything you needed to. Happy Holidays!!!
