Big shot in the arm for WBC

For those who missed it, Team USA stayed alive in the World Baseball Classic last night with a three-run rally in the ninth inning.
Not only was this good for the Americans, but for the WBC as well.
Let's face it, while the WBC has been successful, it still hasn't quite taken hold in the U.S. other than with die-hard baseball fans.
Part of the reason is obviously here in the states, we're more concerned with how our MLB teams do rather during the season rather than in some preseason tournament (Unless you happen to be a Pirates fan and already know, sadly).
But, if the WBC is going to catch on in the US of A, last night's game was a good start. The semifinals will now draw a little more interest with the home team still in contention.
No the WBC isn't perfect, but for those who pay attention, it is good baseball. Maybe one day we'll have the same enthusiasm about our team as the rest of the world does.
And maybe one day, so will Chipper and the rest of the millionaires who don't seem to care for it. But like I said, yesterday was a good start.
By the way, know any other sport that has that kind of drama? Basketball, football, hockey, you name it, there's a certain point where the clock will beat you. Not in baseball.
