Behind the Scenes of News13 at Noon

You've seen the movies. You've heard the jokes. Everyone loves to poke fun at the weatherman. Well, it's no different here at News13. My crew which shall remain unnamed here, recently came up with a game to play each day called "word of the day." Why? So they can laugh at the weatherman. Here's how it works.

Basically, they think of a random word (the more off the wall the better) and I have to use it in my weathercast. I don't get to find out what the word is until just before showtime so that I don't have time to think about it. So far, the words have been things like apple, tanked, and oregano. Try fitting that into a conversation about the weather! Yesterday (Halloween) the word was lamb--not an easy one, but I got it in there when I advised kids not to dress up as a lamb for Halloween (it was warm). Today's word was usurp. I struck out there, but I'll get 'em tomorrow!
