Beasley says Huckabee is a ‘good ol’ country boy’

Former Gov. David Beasley said he thinks Mike Huckabee can win tonight's debate simply by being himself.

He also called Huckabee a "great communicator," a phrase that evokes the late President Ronald Reagan.

"I think he will be a smash hit with voters in South Carolina, and particularly the Pee Dee," Beasley said of the former Arkansas governor.

That's because Huckabee is a likeable person and "a good ol' country boy," Beasley said.

When Pee Dee voters get to know Huckabee, "they'd realize, 'He's just like me,'" Beasley added.

He said Huckabee embodies the conservative values of local voters, is tough on illegal immigration and is serious about cutting taxes.

Well. Huckabuck just lost my vote. The last “good ol’ country boy” that I remember was Jimmy Carter. We all know how that turned out.

I was undecided between Romney and Huck. Think I may go with Romney now.

Yes, continue to vote for these crooks.

Should we run down the Bush Disaster Checklist?

I imagine that on his last day, his administration, dressed in pirate garb, will just pull up a gigantic black truck to Fort Knox and take all the gold.  I can also see them possibly wiping a bit of doodoo on the constitution on their way out of town.

Granted, this next administration won’t do much better, and they can’t possibly do any worse.  Honestly?  What’s left?  Nuclear bomb, perhaps?  Zombie plague maybe?
