Amazing Races, Tastes of Thai and more
The news has hit the blog, bl'reader.I am sneezing constantly and my girlfriend thinks I'm allergic to her.
But it's not her, bl'reader, it's me.
Something strange is happening to me.
It's...spring.
Pollen is in the air and I am at its whim. Allergies are erupting and I have no defensive tactic against them. Yes, I could enact the apocalypse procedure, but let's be honest, the earth is too beautiful right now to be destroyed. Plus, there are so many great events coming up.
First, let me tell you what's happening on March 16.
Open Auditions for “The Amazing Race” from 4 to 7 p.m. at Buffalo Wild Wings in Carolina Forest. All applicants must enter as a team and be at least 21 years of age.
Contestants will have a maximum of two minutes on camera to tell the producers why they should choose them for “Amazing Race 15.” CBS is encouraging those interested to complete entry forms in advance, although they’ll also be available at the event. Forms and rules are accessible by going to scnow.com, key word “amazing race.” Contestants must be available to travel this summer to various locations for a period of 30 to 40 days.
There's so many places I'd like to see: Luxembourg, Burma, Canada...I've just got to find someone to go with me.
I have a friend that likes international travel, but she's busying working. Where? Why at the new Thai restaurant which just opened up on the corner of Dargan and Cheves Streets.
Bl'reader, here's the scoop: the owners are Palaam and Amy, they own another Thai restaurant (at least, I'm assuming it's they) in Sumter. The one they have now is currently in the old Corner Cafe building (a nice little joint, but it had to go in order for this gem to fit in). They have everything from curry to sushi. Although the price tag might be a bit steep for some of us to eat there every day (cause you'll want to), there are enough moderately priced items to keep us from going GM (or, "IN THE RED").
I'll have more on it in an article I'm working on for an upcoming edition of the Morning News. Keep your eyes peeled for it. It'll be out soon.
Until then,
Good eats and good times,
I'll see you in 8 Days.
