A tale of two cold fronts
We cannot really complain about the hot weather in July and August, because it is supposed to be hot in July and August. But once school starts and Labor Day comes and goes, day after day of 90-95 degree weather starts to take it's toll. Football is on TV, and it is supposed to cool down by now. And where is the rain? We have been watering our lawns all summer long, we need a break! That break is coming. A "One-Two Punch" of cold fronts that will be moving through the Carolinas in the next week will satisfy those longing for rain, and those just looking for a cool-down.
The first front is a weak one that will move in Wednesday and stall through Saturday. There will be a subtle cool-down because of the increased cloud cover, but it will remain humid. With this front stalled right on top of us this week, we will have the chance for rain each of the next four days.... and waves of moisture should move north out of the Gulf of Mexico, bringing better chances for rain on Thursday and Friday.
Cold front number two is still taking shape in northwestern Canada. This front will have a little more steam, and just reading the location of where it is coming from (northwestern Canada!) is enough to make us forget the heat for a minute. This cold front will move through Saturday night. It will not stall over the Carolinas, but will blast right through, bringing it's cool refreshing Canadian air with it. Expect below normal temperatures starting Sunday and much lower humidity as well. High temperatures in some spots Sunday may not get out of the 70s, and morning lows away from the coast next week will be in the lower 60s.
Now that is open the window and turn off the AC weather!
