A few thoughts on Week 9
Just a few quick thoughts on Week 9 of the high school football season:1. Was there every really a doubt that Cheraw would figure things out? The Braves were 1-3 not too long ago and looked like a shell of their former selves. But they've won five straight now and appear to be firing on all cylinders. Dillon's always a tough test, but the real game I'm looking forward too will be in a few weeks at Timberland. ...
2. Big congrats to the alma mater. First win for East Clarendon against Lamar since 1983. Elbert McFadden has really stepped up in recent weeks. As for Lamar, not being able to put teams away finally caught up with them.
3. Marlboro County really needed this win. Even though it doesn't count in the region standings, the Bulldogs needed this one just for confidence sakes. Losing to Lakewood will do that to you.
4. Dillon Chrisitan looks like that might indeed be headed for another state title game. Laurens looked like about the only team that could give them a game and it was no contest. Granted, the rain probably had something to do with it, but a big win is a big win.
