A chilly and wet Novem-BRRRR!!

Winter is still three weeks away, but someone forgot to tell November. Unless you were out of town the entire month, you probably guessed already that November was very, very cool for South Carolina. As we say hello to December, here's a look at the final stats for November:

For Myrtle Beach, the average high was 63.2 while the average low was 43.3. This comes out to be 1.4 degrees below normal for the month.

For Florence, the average high 61.9 with an average low of 39.3. This averaged 4.8 degrees below normal for the month.

It was a very wet month as well, which was good news given our drought of the last several years. For Florence, we had 4.41" of rain, 1.82" above normal. In Myrtle Beach, we had 4.11" of rain officially which was 1.14 " above normal.

For the year, we are doing well in the rain bucket too with a surplus of 7.75" in Florence and 5.66" in Myrtle Beach. Much of this surplus was courtesy of Tropical Storm Hanna.

So will the cold and wet fall we are about to finish trickle over into the winter season? Will it be a white Christmas, or just a wet Christmas? We can always dream, right? Here's a look at the winter forecast from NOAA.

Let's just say it isn't looking good for Frosty this year!
