I’m not here to talk about the past.
At least, not the recent past.
When it comes to Major League Baseball, I’m sick of it.
For the first time this week, all three series hit the track for practice. I’ll tell you what I’m thinkin’ about a busy Wednesday at Daytona International Speedway.
Tony Stewart and Kurt Busch only get six race probation for using their cars as battering rams. While some may argue that’s too lenient, I think it’s just about right.
This is one of the best times of the year. So many people are looking forward to Thursday and all the happiness and joy it brings. I know I am.
There may not be any driver, haulers or crew at the track, but I’m here! Here’s what I’m thinkin’ about the odds of who will win the Great American Race.
While the wins weren’t there this year, South Florence girls coach Lisa Jones probably had one of her better years in terms of coaching.
Most of her offensive threats from last year are gone, but like every season, she seems to get the most out the players she has.
Players from all over the Pee Dee and Grand Strand put their names down on the dotted line, but what happened when the cameras weren’t on? That’s in today’s What Lincoln is Thinkin’.
I sat down for Super Bowl XLII without a rooting interest.
I hate the Giants.
I’m tired of the Patriots.
And, like most people, I was pretty much convinced New England was going to win.
We love to hype up sports events in our society. But there’s nothing more over-hyped than today, college football national signing day.
If you had to question Dishone Gregory’s value to the South Florence basketball team, all you had to do was watch Tuesday’s game against Conway.
Gregory, one of the top scorers in the Pee Dee, had to miss the first half because of disciplinary reasons.
The Wilson Tigers lost their top seven scorers from last year’s state championship squad.
Still, they’ve managed to secure a playoff berth despite the gauntlett that is Region 5-3A. Pretty remarkable when you think about it.
One week left to go in the regular season - so who is in my Terrific 13?
It has become the norm week in and week out through the NFL playoffs for media and fans to talk about how the Giant’s opponents kept losing games instead of how the Giants were winning them. Anyone who says that about Sunday’s Super Bowl must not have watched the game.
After covering my first Francis Marion women’s basketball game of the year, I was impressed by the impact Heather Macy has had on the program.
The first-year coach has the Patriots off to a 15-2 start, ranked in the top 25 and leading the Peach Belt conference standings. Macy, who turned a Pfeiffer program in three years, is on her way restoring a once-proud Patriot program, which hasn’t won a conference tournament crown since 1998.
There are many great rivalries in the Pee Dee.
There is West and South Florence and Lamar and Timmonsville.
