Hannah-Pamplico Coach Kirk Mays gets a hug from son Carson Mays, 9, as he runs the Raiders through football practice on Monday, August 24, 2009. Mays fell from a deer stand last winter and is now paralyzed.

Thought this photo I took during the Cheraw Braves game against the Lamar Silver Foxes was pretty funny so I thought I’d share…

Tomorrow in the Morning News, a feature story on a local horse camp.
Coming next week in the Morning News…. a story about Kershaw Street resident Samuel Abraham. “Abe” as his friends know him, has spent the last six months cleaning up the neighborhood surrounding his home. From removing trash, to clearing Kudzu vines and shrubs with not much more than a shovel and a small hatchet, the difference has been amazing to his neighbors.

Barrett Kleinknecht (10) pitches during the Redwolves game against the Wilson Tobs at American Legion Field in Florence on Wednesday, June 17, 2009.

Noah Lanier, 2, was just staring at the girls at the Lynch’s River Splash Pad on Thursday, June 11, 2009. When I told his mom about the photos she laughed and said “That’s my boy!“ Then he looked like he was going to go for it!

These two were too cute during the festivies after the Children’s Miracle Network Parade of Miracles! Big brother Hunter Shipley, 7, held his little sister Skylar Shives, 1, while they watched Tiko the clown create balloon animals.

While taking pictures at the 2nd annual Senior Prom at the Elmcroft Heartland Village, I noticed Mia Pellechia, 3, sleeping in an armchair. At one point she sat up straight, still sleeping. I snuck over to take a photo and she started yawning.

Got to take pictures of the Public Works Storm Water Division clearing storm drains after the rains in Florence today. I really like this reflection pic so I thought I’d share!

I love red, I love plain walls, I love baseball, and I love bored ball players. This one is from the Knight’s game yesterday.
I took pictures at the 25th annual Southern Plant and Flower Festival at the Pee Dee State Farmers Market today. These pictures were two of my favorites, but they lost their OOMPH when I converted them to black and white. So here they are!!

Jim Spencer of Mullins carries away the male koi fish he purchased at the festival. Spencer’s wife purchased a female koi earlier in the day and they decided to get her a companion.

Gerber daisies are always one of the festival’s most popular flowers and you can find them in almost every size and color.
The Wilson High School baseball field has amazing light at just the right angle for amazing photographs as the sun goes down. I worked this angle hoping for a really cool moment. One of the players sitting out of the game kept helping the left fielder warm up, but I kept missing his glove reaching over his head for a ball…this was the best picture I got.

One of the Wilson baseball coaches stands on the third base line as the sun goes down during the Wilson Tigers game against the West Florence Knights on Wednesday, April 8, 2009.

Shooting the new Hartsville baseball coach Tony Gainey today…I was using my wide angle lens when I got this shot. Had I been using a longer lens this picture may have been usable, but I had to crop in too far and the quality deteriorated. ARGH!!! But I thought I’d share it anyways!!
