Black Friday Begins

Black Friday is here and I’m out in the middle of it. Traffic was actually not that bad at 6:30 a.m. I guess I missed the rush (whew).

Black Friday: It’s a ghost town once you’re past the Mall

Although parking seemed to be an issue at Circuit City, it was controlled chaos inside the store.

Lives Touching Lives

The older I become, the more I come to realize how blessed I am, and grateful for the loving kindness I receive daily from those around me.  The past couple of years have been kinda rough on me and my family.  My mother’s passing away from us 19 months ago, and my father’s critical illness last Christmas brought me to my knees.

Holiday Tradition

It’s odd working on holiays like Thanksgiving, but it certainly isn’t as bad as it sounds. Traditions are what make holidays special, not the hour or the day.

It’s hard finding living turkeys…the day before Thanksgiving

We had this great idea today of finding one of the last, living turkeys on the day before Thanksgiving, and telling his story.
I jumped at the chance to do this story. I love doing stories that give people a break from the everyday news.
I imagined it would be fairly easy to find turkeys in the Pee Dee. There are lots of farms in the area, and definitely lots of chicken houses, so why not turkeys?
Well after about an hour, 14 google searches, and about 16 phone calls…I discovered it’s really hard to find living turkeys around here.

We have much to be thankful for

As Thanksgiving Day approaches, I’m reminded of all I have to be thankful for.  The main blessings in my life are my two children.

Holiday Shopping

I am the queen of last-minute shopping.  Many of you have already made your list and checked it twice.  I still have to figure out what I’m going to buy for my family and friends… and then I have to go get it!

Best Rivalry In The Carolinas? Not This Saturday.

Clemson and South Carolina fans pride themselves on this annual match-up. But if you think this is the best collegiate rivalry in the Carolinas, think again. For that, you’ll need to take a trip up Tobacco Road.
