It’s a dirty job, but someone’s gotta do it

I found out that when I was in the hospital a few weeks ago, I missed seeing the host of my favorite TV show in person.
A co-worker told me when I got back to work her friend ran into Mike Rowe, of The Discovery Channel show “Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe,” at a Florence restaurant.
Dang!

Spears’ Sex Ed for the Tween Set

Since health and environmental issues are my beat at the Morning News, I feel the need to discuss the Spears sisters and their lack of family planning.

It drives me crazy

So I opened up a Christmas present from my parents a couple of days ago, it was blue jeans.  It was the pair I told them I wanted.  They were my correct size, but I couldn’t get them past my hips.

Holiday Travel

Gas prices in our area are up 30%, and airfare is up 16% (according to AAA).  It makes you wonder if you choose to take a long road trip to your destination instead of flying, are you really going to save a lot of money?  Well, at least our wallets will get a break in one area – rental cars.  AAA reports that rental car rates on average are actually down 4% from last year.

Debate planning like building a circuit board

I am really enjoying interviewing the folks working on the debates.  My big “take away” this week was the realization that it takes a ton of hard work- physical and mental- to plan and execute a major event.

2007 Top Moments: End Of An Era

For me, television will never be the same now that Tony, Carmela, Christopher, Silvio, Paulie, Uncle Junior, and Phil Leotardo are now longer a part of my Sunday nights.

New prescription discount drug program

You might say folks in Horry County got an early Christmas present today.  The county announced a new prescription discount card program today.  The goal is to say everyone a little money.  And that’s great news, since most of us are spending more money than usual because of Christmas.

Countdown to the Debates:  Breathe! Deeply. Often.

The title of this blog is actually posted on a little card that sits on my computer monitor.  It was given to me by a dear friend, and I find it to be very good advice.  Myrtle Beach is ramping up very quickly to be on the world stage.  Along side the Senior PGA Golf Tournaments in the ‘90’s, these Presidential debates promise to be among the best, if not THE best chance for the world to see, and get to know Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  So the pressure is on for all involved in getting ready, and pulling off these very big events.

Why can’t I just get to a skill level of 40?!

For at least two weeks now I have been trying to get to a skill level of 40 in Lonewolves.  For those of you who don’t know what I am talking about, I’m talking about matchmaking on Halo 3.
