Ivan the Terrible

Hurricanes usually rip up anything in their path through the ocean. In 2004, Category 5 Ivan crossed an array of bouys and the bouys survived! The data they gathered is valuable.

Bone Dry

Tonight’s cold front will bring in refreshingly lower humidity the next couple of days. It will be dry, but not as dry as it was in Phoenix yesterday, where they set records for the low humidity.

It is easy to spot tornado damage if one tears through your neighborhood, but it is hard to confirm tornado damage paths in rural areas. One tool that helps tornado survey teams looks for tornado damage paths from outer space.
