Flooding rain just to our east

The clouds have broken. The storm system that has kept us cloudy is moving away. While we did not see much rain, this storm system brough flooding just to our east.

Pinch the suckers…. or not?

This time of year tomato plants grow like crazy. Mine already have some little tomatoes on them. It is almost like you can watch them grow. This is great, because it means that garden fresh tomatoes are just around the corner…. But it is also bad, because if you pinch your suckers, you need to do it every day, before they get away from you.

Inauguration weather

The millions of people in Washington D.C. did not seem to mind the cold conditions for the inauguration. Temperatures were in the teens and 20s, but there was plenty of sunshine. All in all, it was rather nice weather for January in D.C.
