Fisch Tank: Baseball Preview 3We have some big time matchups taking place this week on the diamond. As far as last week goes, how can you not be impressed by CCU going up to Cary and jumping on the Tar Heels? Plus, you had Clemson’s early entry freshmen Kyle Parker yoke 3 Home runs and 7 RBI to save the Tigers from a sweep against Wake. Think about this, he should be playing High School ball right now, that’s impressive. Time to take a look at this week.

Coastal Carolina was a pleasant surprise and Gamecocks pitcher Blake Cooper made me eat crow! So, I’ll attempt to get back into the win column with my predictions for the week ahead.

I found Clayton Holmes even though he’s still searching for himself.On a back road, located next to the vocational school for the disabled and across the street from the national cemetery, lives a man that hasn’t had a vocation in years. Millions of kids dream of the playing in the NFL and winning a Super Bowl ring, but for Clayton Holmes, who fulfilled that dream, he realized it was actually hollow.

Fisch Tank: He-Man or Stick Figure?Not being home for Christmas gave me the opportunity to think back to when I was a kid . I thought about some of the great times I had, and gifts I received. But in jogging my memory I realized my favorite gift as a child were my baseball heros in figurine form. It got me thinking; would today’s Starting Lineup baseball figurines look like stick figures or He-Man.

Fisch Tank- Should Players Get Paid?Saturday at Brooks Stadium a collection of South Carolina’s best high school football players will take part in the North – South game. The week’s worth of practices leading up to the big event, gave college scouts and representatives an opportunity to observe and lure in these athletes. Yet with these players potentially prolonging their playing careers into the college ranks, it makes me wonder, should they get paid to play at the next level considering they are potentially allowing their coaches to get raises.
