We cannot really complain about the hot weather in July and August, because it is supposed to be hot in July and August. But once school starts and Labor Day comes and goes, this day after day of 90-95 degree weather starts to take it’s toll. Football is on TV… it is supposed to cool down by now. And where is the rain? We have been watering our lawns all summer long, we need a break!

The drought across the Carolinas this summer has been especially bad in North Carolina, where much of the state remains in extreme drought. While it has been dry in South Carolina as well, many places to the north are measuring the 2007 rainfall deficit in feet. Some people have been looking toward the tropics for relief from the drought, and that relief almost came this past weekend.
I was out sick last week. Had to have minor, outpatient surgery. I’m back now, and glad to be back in the office. I think our little cat, precious Frida, was a little sick of me invading her “sleep time” at home!
